I have now eaten at the same restaurant as Bill and Hilary Clinton, Fidel Castro and countless other foreign dignitaries. I have eaten high above the city on the 93rd floor of the Hyatt, high above the JingMao tower and the Pearl Tower. I have eaten Wagyu beef and gotten very drunk on $300 a bottle wine. I have smoked 10 year old Cuban cigars. I've had 3 kinds of Hot Pot, countless dumplings, filled with soup, filled with pork, filled with shrimp. I have eaten every part of the duck, goose, lamb, chicken, lotus, and pig as well as most of the animals in the ocean, lake and rivers. And, my god, the vegetables; so many delicious vegetables in various sauces. I couldn't tell you what my favourite thing was, because it's all been so delicious and it's all become a bit of a blur. I know that this isn't the typical Chinese experience. It is much better than that. I still have most of my trip left and I don't even want to imagine what wonderful new experiences it may bring. I'm trying to savour all of it and experience everything to the fullest.
I have pictures, but they might have to wait until I get home, or at least find a more reliable wifi connection. I apologize for the infrequency of my posts. The great firewall makes it difficult to connect to the website to update. Also, it blocks out facebook entirely, so I can't reply to your comments there. Any comments you want me to see, please leave on the blog. I will try to respond to those. When I get home, I am going to try to update all the blog posts with the appropriate pictures.
